PASS 06: FAMOUS METEOR LOVERS LOOK FOR AN ECLIPSE

The meteor lovers always looked for

total solar eclipses,

hoping to see an original fireball-

a nimble jewel greeting in a hurry

the solar diamond prominences.

-Andrei Dorian Gheorghe (SARM)-

So, lovers of meteors and of astronomy,

let’s go with a lot of friends to Turkey!

-Arnold Tukkers (the Netherlands)-

Valentin Grigore (SARM) and Casper ter Kuile (Dutch Meteor Society)

Arnold Tukkers and Jos Nijland - both from the Dutch Meteor Society -

sitting down in the right (near Alexandrina Zuza from SARM

and their Dutch fellows Remco Scheepmaker and Gerard Groener)

Marc Gyssens (counsellor of the International Meteor Organization

and director of Urania Public Observatory-Antwerp,

who gave his name to an asteroid),

met incidentally in Cappadocia as the leader of a Belgian eclipse group

As we never found a meteor

during a total solar eclipse,

we could consider the eclipsed Sun

as the greatest black fireball

of all times.
