Meteor Poems, 2001

The 8 poems below were included in a work paper by Andrei Dorian Gheorghe, Meteor Art at the IMCs before the IIIrd Millenium, presented by the author in September 2001 at the International Meteor Conference in Cerkno (Slovenia) and initially published in the Proceedings of this event by the International Meteor Organization in 2002.

ASTRAL BEINGS

Astral beings are awakening.
Somewhere in the darkness,
Meteoroids are lying in wait for
Mysterious atmospherical corridors
To rush out brighter than the stars,
Meteoric leading actors.

Thank you, Heaven,
For your confessions
Through drops of light.

AUGUST METEOR OBSERVATIONS

On the branches of a willow tree,
Stars meet their magnitudes.
I am staying on their cold trails,
Waiting for their whispers,
For their return in the morning,
To be in touch with
My whole being.

PERSEID FIREBALL

You are the pain of my entity.
In you, colours and forms of the abyss
Are tossing.
You are hidden in my soul too,
Like an isle,
But losing your forms and colours.
And your votive light...
Giving birth to the sin of your disloyalty
That I shall not be able
To assess exactly
Your magnitude!

THEN, THE FLIGHT

The season of the mirrors of phosphor
Surprised us with open gates,
Checking the sea pockets
Because the meteors escape into our dreams.

And then the flight-
A light acted by the wing.

LEONIDS

This night I want to catch
Through my camera
A Leonid fireball in Perseus.

But you, sweet gleams collecting
My moments of emotion,
You run too rapidly, don't understand?

A LOST MESSAGE

Deciphering the genetic code
Of a burning meteor,
I found traces of eternity singing.
It was our last hope.

Who am I,
Radiant?
