MIHAI EMINESCU
AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL
ROMANIAN ASTROSTANZA
- an excerpt from
Andrei Dorian Gheorghe’s article
“The SFPA in Romania in the first part of 2000”
published on September/October 2000

I’d like to say that all these galas
(of the Cosmopoetry Festival
of the Romanian Society for Meteors and Astronomy-SARM -
ADG’s Note)
were dedicated in 2000 to the Romanian national poet,
Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889),
who wrote many verses about the Cosmos.
Here is a stanza from his astropoem
“From the Star” (1886):
The icon of the star which died
Is climbing up slowly in the sky.
It was when we didn’t see it,
Today we see it, but it is not.
