ROMANIAN ASTROCREATIVE YOUTH

ASTROARTWORK

the 1st laureate at the national contest organized
by the Bucharest National Children Palace in November 2012)

CELESTIAL SONATA
-by Princess of Astropoetry, Targoviste-

Moon, stars , nebulae
Incidentally thrown
Into accidental order
Of indifferent time

Or even ordered
Into arranged forms
On various models
Used by millennia

Did you think, man,
How in the heavens
Orion
Hunts Triton?

But the eyes don’t see motion
Or dynamic duels,
The eyes see
Just heavenly glory.

COSMOS
-by Maria Brasoveanu, grade 9,
Carabella High School, Targoviste-

Cosmos…
What is it for me?
It’s… everything!
The place where we
live, think, are happy,
and the stars gambol free.
The place where all are simple particles.

I would have so many questions…
anything is possible
and becomes more complicated.

I remember those summer nights
when I watched the canopy of heaven
together with my grandfather.
I asked him:
Why does the night come?
Why do the stars appear?
Why does the Moon replace the Sun?

But not even my wonderful grandfather
could give me adequate replies,
and today I still have the strange feeling
that I live in the unknown,
and I will learn something new
from any adventure!

COSMOS
-by Andreea Daniela Calota, Ana Maria Ciobanu and Catalin Amuza,
grade 9, Ion Ghica High School, Targoviste-

If you think you know the Cosmos
and look at it,
you feel you are nothing.

Shadows in the darkness,
the Sun as a spherical monster
that daily rises and sinks in the west,
nights full of mysteries,
living glow worms as beacons in the sky,
far, round, luminous sources
as stars distanced by light years…

And thus,
the innocent night becomes
a geometric reading,
but it is not enough,
it also needs physics, chemistry,
and especially astronomy.

COSMOS
-by Marius Petrescu, Pucioasa,
Elena Donici Cantacuzino School-

Sun, Moon, eclipses
have always fascinated me,
but today I admire
a star as a ballet dancer
from the celestial corps.

THE STAR OF SOLITUDE
-by Ioan Bigea, high school student-

The Cosmos is infinite
and we live in it as appearances.

The only untouchable thing
is that you cannot describe.

The Universe is so large that
time cannot cover it all.

MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE
-by Ioana Marin, grade 9,
Carabella High School, Targoviste-

The Universe… immense space
which flows above our heads.

Are we alone in it?
Or, does anyone see us?
Is any limit in the infinite?
Are the people just puppets for superior beings?

In its structure,
the Universe means both being and non-being,
so… can parallel words co-exist?
And about time…
is it all irreversible?

So many questions without certain answers,
as if the Universe wants to hide
unknowable mysteries.

STARRY NIGHT
-Cristinel Enache, grade 9-

Stars give birth
to incredible dreams.

The sky shows lots of ecstatic blazes,
the heart of natural starry cloth.

Dusty stars and meteors
lighten the night,
transparent shadow.

UNIVERSAL LEGEND
-by Maria Piorus, grade 8,
School 3, Pucioasa-

Universe…
a zone of expansion,
a world of dreams and fantasies,
a great territory divided into pieces,
led by He Who Takes Care Of All.

But who can transform the infinite
into a grain of dust?
Simply,
the poet
who sees the love story
between the Sun and the Moon…

SATURN
-by Cristina Florentina Nitu,
grade 9, Ion Ghica High School, Targoviste-

I count six planets from the Sun.
Who is bigger?

After glossy champion Jupiter
it’s Saturn, a gaseous giant,
with over 60 satellites
and fine ice rings
(well-known astral entities),
which help him
to defeat the abyss…

UNIVERSE
-by Maria Ungureanu,
Goga Ionescu High School, Targoviste-

I watch the sky at midnight
and a thought directs me
to infinity…

to meteors, planets, galaxies…
to immortality…

to find about nothing
and to my birth from the Universe.

HEAVENLY KINGDOM
-by Chocolate Heart, high school student-

King Sun lightens my face
and he whispers to me “good morning”.
Sitting in the blue sky
he mirrors in my green eyes
and gently embraces me.

But in the end of the day
he sadly leaves me,
and Queen Moon appears cold,
with proud stars,
and they whisper to me “good night”.

COSMIC DIAMONDS
-by Alexandra Ozorchevici and Ana Maria Ciobanu, grade 9,
Ion Ghica High School, Targoviste-

In only one look
the Cosmos appears a fascinating world:
galaxies which seem like beads
are in fact proud groups of stars…

TWINKLE
-by Miruna Canache, high school student-

Twinkles appear in the sky
while the Sun goes to sleep.
The darkness comes together
with the Moon and stars,
bringing much mystery.

I’d like to be among the
planets, stars and comets,
I’d feel myself like
an astronaut on Apollo!

I’d like to discover new wonders,
new worlds with other people and children,
but I have to await on my Terra,
with my soul loaded by…
celestial twinkles!

TO THE STARS
-by Andreea Bossi, grade 9-

I float,
I fly to the sky,
to the stars,
called by
a strange dream,
a thought
hidden in them.

COSMOS
-by Alex Stanciu (grade 9)-

The Cosmos is like a big home for the
Sun, Moon, planets and stars.

The Sun is like a son of the Cosmos.
He saves us from the thrills of the night,
lightening the Earth.

The stars are like
shining and colored flowers,
and the planets are like
little children,
rotating without fear of meteorites
and other bothers…

TRAVELLER
-by Catalin Mocanu, grade 9-

I was born on Earth and,
after a hard flight,
I went to Mars,
where, being alone,
I proclaimed myself an emperor!

MY CELESTIAL UNIVERSE
-by Iuliana Arsenescu and Nicoleta Nedelcu,
grade 9-

You are my celestial Universe,
in you I find my happiness:
the Sun lightening my soul every day,
the Moon comforting my being,
the stars that make me feel like a flower,
Jupiter and their planets that never disappear…

Some day I’d like to destroy
all the evil on Earth
and then to start to Mars
and to stars…

COSMOS - AN OPEN UNIVERSE
-by Stefania Manta (grade 8,
Elena Donici Cantacuzino School, Pucioasa)-

I travel through the unknown Cosmos,
I lost myself among the giant planets,
All seems to be a far past
That was never discovered.

Bright comets ramble in the darkness,
The warm Sun owns the sky,
Thousands of stars create a magical scenery,
Mysteries appear from anywhere.

The Earth is unique in the Universe,
The most special planet,
And you can describe it at anytime
Through verses!

The Universe is always unknown,
Always a charming infinite,
Always a pleasing space
Like a dark, but loving soul.

NIGHT IN THE WORLD OF STARS
-astro-art-poem by Alina Marinoiu (grade 9)

The night is quiet
The stars have filled it
So many stars
Burning like torches

The moon, goddess of the night,
Seems to be proud and hot,
She is walking among them,
Little Chariot, Great Chariot…

ASTROPOEM
-by Targovistean Junior-

All was born from eternity
Even that small galaxy
Consisting of planets and lots of stars
Which now I keep in my hands…

JUPITER
-astro-art-poem by Andreea Elena Niculescu (grade 9)

Jupiter, the 5th planet from the Sun,
Is the biggest,
With tens of satellites
That are not quite equal.

With a giant magnetic field
(Which seems to be his tenant)
Jupiter is the 4th
In the top of celestial brightness
And certainly amazes you
Through his highness…

UNIVERSE
-by Andreea Daniela Calota (grade 9)-

Supernovae explode,
Nebulae are born,
Lots of stars appear
And become beautiful

A comet passes,
A meteor falls down,
A planet twirls
With a satellite near it.

There are many black holes,
A pulsar still lightens,
And our sun uses to
Rise and set.

Thousands of double stars,
Millions of asteroids,
And people who like
To study the heavenly bodies.

All of these can be
Collected into a verse
Or even a word which defines all poetry:
Universe!

MYSTERY
-by Marius Petrescu, Pucioasa,
Elena Donici Cantacuzino School-

A shooting star passes over me.
Should I think of a wish?
Because, certainly, my scope
is a better telescope.
